Ben Debell utilizes an integrative approach to counseling, incorporating theological and psychological principles. He previously served as a chaplain in the Brookwood Baptist Health system for a year and a half. He is also an ordained minister.
Ben enjoys working with children, teens, and adults. He uses a variety of counseling models to meet the various needs of clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention®), and others.
Ben is an Associate Licensed Counselor. He is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), helping individuals process trauma, and is certified to administer PREPARE/ENRICH Assessments, a tool for pre-marital/marital counseling.
He earned his Master of Divinity specializing in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Alabama.
Ben and his wife, Anna, live in the Birmingham area.
