Anna Bekah Hancock sees the value in creating a space of safety and unconditional positive regard for clients as they process and heal from painful circumstances. She believes that every person is deserving of compassion, respect, and kindness and seeks to create a therapeutic environment where clients can experience the love and grace of God.

She works from an attachment perspective and integrates several evidence-based theoretical orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy, to meet the needs of each unique person. Anna Bekah enjoys working with children, teens, and adults struggling with trauma, grief, depression, body image issues, and anxiety and has a special interest in utilizing expressive arts techniques, including Play Therapy and Art Therapy.

Anna Bekah is an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) under the supervision of Lisa Keane, MAMFC, Supervising Counselor. She received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) from the University of Montevallo. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University.

Prior to starting at Pathways as a therapist, Anna Bekah worked at the Amelia Center, where she provided grief counseling to children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. Along with this, she worked as a Direct Care Counselor in a residential treatment center.

Anna Bekah and her husband live in the Birmingham area.

She joined Pathways in October 2021.
