Heather Windham

Heather believes that everyone has a unique gift (1 Corinthians 12:4-7), and her purpose is to support others in their healing process (Romans 8:28). She is honored to have the opportunity to walk beside clients through what are often very challenging seasons of life. Heather specializes in working with children and adolescents, but serves families and adults across the lifespan. She supports clients with anxiety and depression, neurodivergent concerns, foster and adoption care, and school related challenges. Heather utilizes a blend of counseling theories to meet each individual client’s needs, integrating components from play-based, attachment-based, and cognitive-behavioral theories.
Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor, holding a Doctorate in Counseling Education as well as a Master’s in School Counseling. Her trainings include: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Theraplay Level 1 and Gottman Level 1. Heather is currently studying to become a Certified AutPlay Therapy Provider® and is under supervision to become a Registered Play Therapist.
Prior to joining the Pathways team, Heather taught as a professor of counseling education and served as a middle school counselor. Her training in her specialty areas provides a strong foundation for supporting families as they navigate the complexities of the school systems today.
Heather lives with her husband and two children in Wetumpka, AL.
She has been with Pathways since August 2023.
