It is Leah Owens’ desire to offer hope for the hopeless and help for the helpless; to treat everyone with dignity and respect and to pass no moral judgment, but offer God's love, grace, and forgiveness. She believes that God has a plan for everyone, and it is to prosper, not to harm, and to give hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
Leah is a Nationally Certified, Licensed Professional Counselor and also a Registered Play Therapist. She is trained in in Theraplay, the Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) model to work with children who have attachment challenges, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and is certified to administer PREPARE/ENRICH Assessments, a tool for pre-marital/marital counseling.
In 2012, Leah earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She is also a graduate of the University of Mississippi with an Ed.S in Play Therapy, and of the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Rehabilitation Services with an emphasis in counseling/psychology, in 1987.
Leah has been married to her husband, Keith, since 1987, and they have three grown sons and 2 daughters-in-law, and a grandson. She is a PK (preacher’s kid) and has been actively involved in ministry for over 30 years.
She has been with Pathways since December of 2011.
